I live the dream, singing and writing songs in Nashville. My favorite things (besides music) are thrifting, DIY projects, wine, puppies, and anything vintage.

When it comes to fashion, I keep it pretty neutral, pretty classic and VERY consistent. If you know me you know I love to wear soft feminine pallets and as a rule, no black. (I do break this rule when it comes to black leggings and jeans though :)  But I broke WAY out of my comfort zone this holiday season because, hey life’s too short not to parade through downtown Nashville with your best friend in tulle skirts!

Ok maybe this is a little crazy, but this year was actually my first year to get into the whole ugly sweater thing! I know I’m SO late to the (ugly Christmas sweater) party. But better late than never!  I got this cute western Christmas sweater from Francesca’s and the cactus made it even extra ✨✨✨. (I couldn’t find it on the website, they must have sold out, but check back next season because they had ADORABLE Christmas stuff.

When Natalie and I were talking about dressing up and taking some fun Christmas pics we were looking for something we knew we both already had that could be cute and matchy. A tulle skirt is definitely a closet staple and always comes in handy for holiday parties, dressy events, bachelorette parties, etc.  Mine is half of a vintage prom dress of my aunts, and Natalie’s is actually a bridesmaid dress she wore years ago!  She chose classic black peep toe heels and I paired my skirt with some crushed velvet rose sock booties I got for a video shoot a few months back from charlotte russe. Honestly I had no idea how much use I’d get out of them! Here’s a similar pair from Aldo.

ALDO

We threw on our ugly sweaters, some faux fur and headed downtown to take pics with the giant Christmas tree in downtown Nashville. Seriously, this thing is huge. Pictures do not do it justice.

Also, can we take a quick sec and talk about this coat? I found it at the Salvation Army in my hometown for… wait for it… $10.  I never want to take it off. Vintage. Perfection.

We had the best time getting all dolled up for the holidays!  I HAD to take a pic by the iconic Grumpy’s Bail Bonds and we even had a random guy in a perfect British accent ask us if we were headed to the Christmas Ball! Ummmm. DUH. Of course we are :)

What’s your fav dressy holiday look?

All my 💖,
