A Ticket to Ride!

If you guys know me, you know the last few years have been pretty personally transformative. As women, and as actually just as people, we can get so wrapped up in trying to take care of others first, making sure everyone else is happy. Let me tell you: I’ve spent my whole life living there. And it can seem backwards or even crazy sometimes to take care of yourself first. But, since I started this whole wellness journey, I’m happier than I’ve ever been and I’m making the best art I’ve ever made. And through all that, I’ve become so passionate about trying to help others find their happy too.

Some of my favorite moments are when I get to talk to you guys after shows, share my stories, and listen to all of your stories about what you guys are going through and what it is that’s lighting you up.

What’s holding you back?

I’ve had so many times where I’d be talking to someone at a meet and greet and they’d say, “Oh I’m just so inspired when I see you, you’re doing what you love, you’re living your passion and your life just seems like one big adventure!” And my advice is always, “Well what do you want to do? Where would you go right now, anywhere if you could. What would you be doing?”

Sometimes people say their dream is to paint, or write novels, to live on the beach, or move to Paris, whatever it is! Beautiful, amazing, worthy dreams. And I find myself always saying, “DO IT! Why not, what is it that’s holding you back?”

Wait, what’s holding me back?

I decided that I needed to take my own advice. I’ve got some time at the end of this year that I’m taking to start writing the next record. And I’ve been dreaming about my own adventure for months now. Something in me just keeps saying, “GO to California.” Joshua Tree has changed my life recently and it’s really calling me back.

SO! I’ve decided to take a quest out west. I’m packing up my guitar and my sweet puppy Hazel and we’re hoping in a car and WE’RE DOING IT! I’m stopping in all my favorite cities on the way out to California and back and also making some epic stops in places I’ve always wanted to go! I know it’s going to be the most amazing trip of my life and of course I will be documenting the WHOLE thing with pictures and videos of everywhere I go.

BUT! What is an epic road trip without all your buds?! I wanna take you guys with me! I want to share all the highlights and the fun and ins and outs of being on the road with you. So! We’re unrolling what we’re calling “A Ticket to Ride” so you guys can come along!

We’re adding a section to my blog where you all can follow along with exclusive pictures, videos and all kinds of cool content from my all of my travels. We’re even offering postcards sent to you from the road, souvenirs from different stops, an amazing night out with me in Joshua Tree and a whole lot of other amazing packages.

Let’s take this trip together! I’m so excited to go on this next adventure and I can’t wait to see how this journey inspires me AND how it will influence and come out in my next batch of songs.
